Manhattan Supper Club Becomes Manhattan Steak & Seafood

Manhattan Steak & Seafood
If you blinked you might not have noticed that Manhattan Supper Club in Orange, the new restaurant that we reviewed here last year, is now Manhattan Steak & Seafood. And yep, you guessed it, when a restaurant undergoes a name change, it's usually because it's got new owners.

Manhattan was bought and sold in the last month. Gone is Stephane Beauchamp, its chef,  along with just about all of his dishes. The new menu, by Chef Louie Moya, however, is similar. His roster of steaks reads just like the old, except that the sides are included on the plates, not a la carte. The multi-room, labyrinthian dining area, including the cave-like wine cellar, seems unchanged.

The Manhattan Supper Club was wack. First of all they had more managers in that place than any other place i've ever seen. It is a nice enviroment, the food is alright but a bit overpriced. There management was full of douchebags that had no idea how to run a restaurant, their owner was an even bigger douchebag bu hiring them in the first place. Their manager deserved to get punched in the face that night, he might learn how to talk to people. He would have gotten his ass kicked had he not had some guys step in to defend him, what a phucken coward, and you call yourself a man, you should walk around wearing a skirt you wussy

Went in last evening and learned the news. I can honestly say that Tim the bartender at the Supper Club will be sorely missed. Big mistake letting him go.......the bartender there last evening won't bring in any business with her attitude!!

Anonymous,

Do you really go to a restaurant because the bartender is nice? Come on you went because he hooked your cheap ass up with free drinks. I bet if that bartender would have hooked you up last night you would of been saying how great she was, and would have forgotten what's his face.

My diagnosis: an overentitled blowhard with testosterone poisoning and an inability to realise that waitstaff usually reflect the patron's attitude back to them.

WAITERS ARE USELESS AND POINTLESS, I COULD GET MY OWN FOOD... DON'T NEED SOME MORON WHO CAN'T GET ANOTHER JOB TO BRING IT TO THE TABLE AND EXPECT ME TO TIP HIM FOR DOING IT. IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR JOB GET ANOTHER ONE. THIS COMES FROM AN EX WAITER. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING BUDDY ALL WAITERS CARE ABOUT IS THE TIP THEY ARE GONNA GET FROM YOU, SAME GOES FOR BARTENDERS-TIP THEM GOOD THEY TREAT YOU GOOD, NO TIP = BAD SERVICE. EVERY CUSTOEMR IS AS GREAT AS THE TIP THEY LEAVE NOT THE PERSONALITY.

I see they added a 25% surcharge for parties of five or more. They must really think they're in Manhattan. We'll see how long this iteration lasts...

I just had dinner at the new Manhattan Steak and Seafood version of the old Manhattan Supper Club. I wasn't impressed. The staff did seem to be swapped out. The new bartender was nice enough but the waitstaff were unfriendly and unprofessional. The menu was less expensive but the food was not nearly as good. The wine list is strangely limited for a place that has it's own wine cellar. I probably won't bother going back again.

I went here a couple times since it opened - one night they had this horrible latin night, Mexican Pablo's, or some equally dopey sort of name. Other then the all latin ethnic night that really sucked (I didn't realize there were real life people that acutally listened to music that bad!) I always liked this place. MANHATTANSUCK.... sounds like a disgruntled ex-employee. "Waiters are usless and pointless, I can get my own food..." - stick with Del Taco sonny. I look forward to trying this new place out!

TheFoodGurl--

i bet you're some over 30 waitress who thinks its a real hard job to do right? Drop by any night of the week and you'll see more staff in this place than patrons. By the way I never worked for the douche that owned it. I stopped working in the restaurant business once i graduated. Here's a TIP for you foodgurl-go to college and get an education so you dont have to kiss people ass' for tips the rest of your life.

I went to this place just last week, and I can definitely see the changes. The food was really good and surprisingly, inexpensive. This is my new fave restaurant.
