Top Chef Drama Continues After Credits Roll

If you don't already know (WARNING: SPOILER) on the Top Chef finale the other night; Hosea won. Stefan got his comeuppance.

But the real story that evening and the morning after was how Carla lost. Blame was put squarely on the shoulders of her sous chef, past TC contestant and Jennifer Aniston doppelgänger, Casey.

The two items that torpedoed Carla's chances (the sous-vide steak and the souffle) was shown on the show to be Casey's idea. There were tears, there were fingers pointed, and then the Internet chatter started (Chowhound comments: 338 and counting).

Yesterday, Casey herself spoke up, in a comment made on SideDish Magazine. Here's what she said:

Carla was not prepared and in over her head. The show did not talk about how the first course (crab) took her half of the friggin' cooking time that day, I was left to work the rest of HER dishes.

She also did not have a plan. The ONLY thing she had in mind was a cheese course! I would NEVER do a cheese course. And where in the hell did french come from!? She is not even classically trained! It (the show) didn't talk about how I worked on a sauce for 2 days and Carla forgot to put it on the plate... It didn't show how the 2nd course (fish) was MINE. It didn't show how she took the sous vide idea and decided to GRILL it last minute causing it to be tough... And it didn't show how she WANTED to do the souffles which she does not even know how to make! That was HER food, because it certainly was me asking her how she wanted to do this and that while she was busy picking crab the entire time and making a souffle that didn't rise!

I am done with TC. I did not influence her. She has NO ideas of her own, oh, except a cheese course.

And you thought the drama stopped when the champagne got poured and the credits rolled!

I don't know who's in the right or wrong, but I do know that a good whine starts with sour grapes.

Stefan was ROBBED! It was clear that he was not Calicio's fave. Stefan was
consistent through out the competition. Hell even Fabio was more consistent than Hosea. The only reason Hosea and Leah even made it that far was to boost
ratings... with some soft core porn!

I can't believe the things that Casey is saying. It's sad because Carla stated in an interview with Eonline that she DID NOT blame Casey, and that it was her food. It is wrong for Casey to speak about Carla in that way, and insult her as a chef. Carla proved in other challenges that she is a great chef. Casey could have defended herself without having to speak so badly of Carla.
