ARC Restaurant
Happy Friday ladies and germs, let's take a look at what this week in food brought us...

Edwin went to the new ARC Restaurant in the OC Mix and while he believes they still have kinks to work out, it seems the place is coming along well. He told us that the CEO of Starbucks is now the protagonist in a new comic book. Then he wrote about Ikea's scare with their almond cakes being contaminated with, gasp, poop! And last, because we don't want to end on a foul note, Edwin told us about Playground's new pop-up project, 2.0 Collaborative, that will rotate different inspirational and upcoming chefs. More »

Xa Sweet and Savory Cafe
Welcome to March ladies and gentleman! Let's ease into your weekend with a little food news...

This week Edwin went to Xa Sweet and Savory CafĂ© in Orange and reported that it just keeps getting better. Then he announced the opening of a new ice cream shop in Irvine called Creamistry. He shared the news that the New York Times will now make 15 articles available daily to readers who log into Starbucks' Wi-Fi. And last he told us that the CEO of the company that owns Tabasco died last weekend. More »

Taverna Blu
Hello ladies and gents, let's take a look at this week in food...

Edwin reviewed Taverna Blu, the new Greek restaurant in the Irvine Spectrum, and it seemed to prove that dining at the Spectrum has turned over a new leaf. Yum! Then he moved on to funny things and shared a story about Guy Fieri, and what happens if you don't register your domain name and you're as parodied as he is. Last, Edwin gave us some information about OC's restaurant week. More »

Thahn Ha Crepe
Valentine's is over and now we can get back to the good ol' regular food stuff. Let's take a look at what this week brought us...

Edwin reviewed the crepes at Thahn Ha in Westminster. He told us about the most expensive drink made at Starbucks so far, which involved 48 shots of espresso (why world?) Then he shared the 'Do Us a Flavor' finalists in Lay's competition for their newest chip flavor. You can probably guess which one we, and the rest of the world, at least the awesome people, are voting for. No meat flavor tato-chips please! More »

Rebel Bite brews.
Hello ladies and germs, and welcome to another week in food.

This week Edwin visited Rebel Bite, a luxe lonchera made permanent in Long Beach, where he tasted curious sandwiches, deep fried wings, and a nice, squid-ink pizza. He told us to try the fruit tart from Le Croissant Dore in Westminster for all of it's sweet, glazed goodness. Then he shared his top 10 rice dishes to eat in Orange County. Some of these pour expensive seasoning and meats atop their rice, while others are straight up cheap and comforting. He told us about a peculiar experiment being conducted at a McDonald's in Australia, where guests are given table service, china to eat off of, and real utensils to eat with. The detail that makes it peculiar is that customers can only receive this special service by ordering three specific sandwiches between 5 and 8 p.m. on a Monday or Tuesday. Edwin finishes up with a story from space. Well, it's not really a story - just a cool video of nuts floating in space. Nuts in space...cue Flight of the Conchords music.More »

The Globe
Hey, welcome to February. Or should I say FeBREWary?! Eh, eh? Maybe not, but this week in food brings you a good brew story all the way from Tijuana, amongst other food related things as usual. In fact, the beginning of February has had so many good blogs, including some from visiting writers, that it was actually difficult to narrow them down into a bite sized recap. So, forgive the food humor cheese (ha!) and let's take a look.More »

YUM at Scraps
Well, we're wrapping up the last weekend of January - damn! Let's see what this week in food brought us before everything becomes about sweets and overcrowded restaurants.

Edwin reviewed the new Scraps restaurant in Huntington Beach that serves asian-fusion tapas. Then he listed the 10 treats that everyone should try in little Saigon. He showed us a reeeally tasty looking salad to try at the Guppy House in Anaheim Hills, although there may be more fried chicken in it than salad at this point. Last, he introduced the spreading news story about the fake ingredients found in popular foods - but maybe you'll decide ignorance is bliss on that one.More »

Earl of Sandwich...sandwich.
Thankfully, this week's food blog didn't have any gross stories to tell. I'm still creeped out every time I think of that KFC drumstick, but alas, we must move on. This week showed us some awesome things to look forward to. Let's take a look.

Edwin reviewed the new Earl of Sandwich chain in Downtown Disney. World's greatest hot sandwich? Edwin didn't think so. At least it's a step above the slightly damp meals at Rainforest Cafe across the promenade! After that review, Edwin moved on to the maple bacon ice cream at OC's ice-cream parlor darling, Strickland's. Then he tasted the fresh baked goods at Kiki Bakery in Irvine. Last, he shared how PayPal will soon be a method of payment at many restaurants. More »

Soft Tofu Soup
This week was stuffed full of some particularly interesting food stories. Things got a little heavy, because it can't be about food porn all of the time. Let's take a look.

Edwin started off light in his food review of Soy Tofu in La Palma where he introduced the soup equivalent of warm, fuzzy socks. Then things got interesting. He showed us a hilarious video of what happens when someone makes a costume that looks like a car seat...and then screws around with people. He told us about a crazy girl who is vowing to eat only Starbucks for an entire year (good luck with that), and last, he revealed a photo that will ruin your appetite for the rest of the day, maybe week. Brain in your KFC, anybody?More »

Wild Goose Tavern Burger
Welcome to 2013, here is what the first week of the year brought us in food.

Edwin reviewed the Wild Goose Tavern in Costa Mesa, and their tasty sausages. He told us about the opening of an Italian burrito concept, found in Costa Mesa, as well. Then he shared Subway's testing of a so-called "Sriracha sauce." Last, he wrote about how, oddly, some Starbucks are now selling the Square credit card reader for $10 - which you can get for free from the website. More »
