​So you might have read this post I wrote up earlier this month about a Utah-based chain called Cafe Rio which has staked out Lake Forest as its first California outpost. Driving by this weekend, I saw that they're further along. 

They seem to be adding a taller, more majestic facade to the previously flat retail space. But that's not the news I want to share. My pal and fellow foodie Brekkie Fan has again got the scoop that Cafe Rio is opening another outlet next to Avanti Cafe in Costa Mesa.

It's like what they say about velociraptors in Jurassic Park, one distracts while another one sneaks up behind you!
