Kimera Discounting Monday Dinner to 50%

Now I got wind that Kimera in Irvine is offering what they call their "Spring Savings" Mondays, where all items are marked down 50% from 5 p.m.-9 p.m.
There is some fine print, like how they tack on an 18% gratuity automatically on all bills PRIOR to taking the 50% off discount, which is fair, because you know people are going to try to tip on the discounted amount, which would make for angry waiters -- and who wants that?!
Also, there's a possibility that the management can exclude items from the 50% offer...but as they say: you can't have your cake and eat it too.
What does that saying even mean anyway? Why have a cake if you can't eat it?
