Restaurant Roll Call for May 2014

Summer is here. May is gone. And thus, it's time for another round-up of new restaurants we noticed opened this month. Among the notables: There were two poke joints that opened and Alessandro Pirozzi of Cucina Alessa fame opened a new place in Corona Del mar. Without further ado, here's the rest of the list.

Though not within the month of May, sometime before that, we said "Ciao" to Burrissimo, the place on Adams Avenue just west of Harbor in Costa Mesa that made the Chipotle-style Italian "burritos" stuffed with spaghetti and such. 



I originally gave Burrissimo about 6 months, but it hung on for about a year or so.  There's another eatery operating in that same space now with the word 'Cajun' in its name (I can't fully see the sign when turning out of the Vons parking lot across Adams).
