Taco Bell Crime of the Week: Cop Car Stuck on Boulder!

Have you ever seen many cops at Taco Bell? Not in my experience, unless they're chasing criminals for this column. And that's how a cop ended up getting his car stuck on a boulder.

From Naperville, Illinois:

Naperville police have launched an internal investigation into a bizarre incident, in which a police officer managed to get his squad car stuck atop a decorative boulder in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant.

No one was injured during the incident. It occurred about noon Monday at the Taco Bell restaurant at 2775 Aurora Ave. on Naperville's far west side.

Sgt. Bill Davis, the police department's public information officer, said the officer behind the wheel of the squad car at the time "was attempting to turn around in the lot to check on a vehicle when he over-steered, and drove over the curb and the rock."

The squad car, No. 188, came to rest almost precisely atop the boulder's peak.

Full name, William Henry Gates III. Not only is he the wealthiest in tech, he is the wealthiest person in the world, period. These days he has cut back his role in Microsoft significantly

It's not that hard to do, I almost did that with my Chevy Celebrity at a Del Taco.

This is news why? What if the guy in the car the cop was going to check had a weapon or was a child molester? Funny story though, huh?

Back in the late 70s, I had a rusted-out, beater Chevy Impala that a client procured and gave to me, in order to expedite helping him out in a town fifty miles away from where I lived in Berkeley. The thing was barely road-worthy. One Saturday night, I was at the Taco Bell on University Avenue. On my way out, I passed over a fairly tall speed-bump berm, which, on prior visits, had only scraped the underside of my car. This time, it made good, solid contact with the muffler and yanked it right off because the exhaust pipe was so rusty. It was like the scene from a movie! Mechanics said that replacing the muffler would cost more than the car was worth. So I had it towed away and bought my first serious vehicle. I do feel for the cop.

How are they going to explain that one at hq? Did they get a ticket like the rest of us would if we did that?

I've totally done that. (Not on a curve though). The driveway was angled to obscure the edge. Someone put a small boulder there to keep people from driving on the landscspe. A cop came by and got me loose.

Someone REALLY needs to go back to driving school! smh The only way this could be anymore funnier, if it was a donut shop, and the officer was Asian. smh
