If you have any info, please call the restaurants above
Orange County has reacted in collective shock and disgust over the brutal beating death of 23-year-old Kim Pham outside The Crosby early Saturday morning. But going above and beyond in asking the public for info leading to the arrest of the 5 cowards suspected of killing Pham (one is already in custody; the other four pendejos and pendejas are still on the loose) are the restaurants in downtown Santa Ana. After years of carefully cultivating the district's reputation as a dining and nightlife hotspot, they're fearful that Orange County will collectively stay away, subscribing to the old canard that SanTana is a cesspool of crime.

That's why yesterday, Downtown Inc.--the collection of restaurants and business charged with promoting the area--announced a $5,000 reward for any info that may lead to the arrest of Pham's killers.

I expect this offer to increase, and will update as necessary. In the meanwhile, their press release is below.:

All of us in downtown Santa Ana reacted with shock to the Jan. 18 incident which led to the injury of a 23-year-old girl outside The Crosby restaurant. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family and friends at this time.

Representatives from The Crosby and Downtown, Inc., a group of local leaders, business owners and residents, are working closely with the Santa Ana Police Department to investigate the incident, which did not involve a weapon and is believed to be isolated. It is the first incident of its kind associated with The Crosby, which opened in 2008 and provides its own internal and external security detail during and after operating hours.

Those of us at Downtown, Inc., are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Santa Ana Police Department at (714) 245-8390. Those wishing to provide information anonymously can call the Orange County CrimeStoppers at (855)-TIP-OCCS or by texting "OCCS" and the tip to phone number 274637 from a cell phone.

Security for visitors has always been the top priority in downtown Santa Ana, especially to Downtown, Inc. While new restaurants, stores and other businesses continue to attract more out-of-area visitors, we have worked with the police to increase our security presence to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike including adding to security patrolling the area by foot, bicycle, car and car.

I agree that it's wrong for the bystanders to just watch, but what also disgust me are the fake people that claim they would have done something even though it's is a lie

Bill Viverito those people did call but cops took over 23 minutes to get there and they're literally down the street from there.

If those filming this horrible beating decided instead to call for help, the police would have arrived sooner! Those filming WERE the first responders. They chose to film. Disgusting to glorify this by filming. A bunch of cowards (I'd like to use a stronger word here!). What could those filming have done? They could have put their cameras down and helped! One can intervene without getting involved physically!!!

This made me sick. All someone had to do was scream " stop police" hold up a wallet and fake it. We as humans need to intervene.

Welcome to Santa Ana, the Orange County city that every year circles closer and closer to the drain.

My prayers go out to the victim and her family. Unfortunately for the perpetrators and the bystanders who stood by and did nothing - know that your day of judgment will come. This is not a threat from me. Karma is REAL. Nothing happens by coincidence my fellow human beings. You were put into that situation to show compassion for a human being and you had none. Years from now; after everything is long forgotten - those perpetrators and bystanders will experience similar situations themselves or to their loved ones. At that moment, this distant memory will be recalled. And only when this happens, will they comprehend the pain and anguish of the victim and that of her family.

You can't stand aside quietly when something this horrible happens. Step up, if several had, she might be alive today.. Push back... Gangs did this? Wow, no surprise there... Sad for her family and mostly for her pain and suffering...

Does CA have the Good Samaritan law? If so, it should apply to the heartless folks whose need to have something "exciting" on their Instagram/FB was of more relevance than helping a fellow human being.

I was talking to a close friend several months ago and it happened to her daughter in Fullerton. She is Latina from Santa Ana and was beaten severely outside a bar near downtown. The only thing that saved her was someone passed by in a vehicle and got out to stop them. What a cruel phone call for the parents to get. My heart goes out to the parents of this young lady and to the community.

Mick Slick, it was in the original article that circulated the morning after the incident. People were seen taking pictures and video. In an update to the story, an arrest has been made as a result of a witness video. Thank goodness!!!

This story pissed me off so bad when I heard about. There was no excuse for what happened to this woman and there is absolutely no justification for people to not try and stop the people beating her.

I hope they find each single person involved. And those who watched, I hope they can't sleep at night. How dare people not try to help or call for help.

Useless comment. Not everything and everyone in Santa Ana is bad.

@Zambrano87No, Santa Ana is easily the biggest sh*thole in Orange County. I've lived in Irvine for 20+ years and i dread having to go there for anything. The people and the city are both trash.

ocfinest
ocfinest

@Zambrano87@ocfinestSo if I don't like a city its because I'm prejudice against hispanics? whome i didn't even mention in the comment LOL. I can't dislike a city because it's dirty, gang infested, all of the nightlife is awful (never been to the Crosby but all the clubs I've been to are awful) all of the staff at government offices are rude. The court is dirty and full of homeless people. All of the roads are old and full of potholes. I can go on for days. What a simple minded response "he doesn't like my city, must be racist!"

Zambrano87
Zambrano87

@ocfinest Yes I get it. You hate Hispanics and Irvine is the best city in OC. We get it. Your prejudice is evident. I hope you made yourself feel better by trashing a city and people from a city you know nothing about. Prejudice, Hate, and hide behind a computer screen....your M.O. We get it.
