$5,000 Reward Offered by Downtown Santa Ana Restaurants for Info in Brutal Beating Death of Kim Pham
Orange County has reacted in collective shock and disgust over the brutal beating death of 23-year-old Kim Pham outside The Crosby early Saturday morning. But going above and beyond in asking the public for info leading to the arrest of the 5 cowards suspected of killing Pham (one is already in custody; the other four pendejos and pendejas are still on the loose) are the restaurants in downtown Santa Ana. After years of carefully cultivating the district's reputation as a dining and nightlife hotspot, they're fearful that Orange County will collectively stay away, subscribing to the old canard that SanTana is a cesspool of crime.
If you have any info, please call the restaurants above
That's why yesterday, Downtown Inc.--the collection of restaurants and business charged with promoting the area--announced a $5,000 reward for any info that may lead to the arrest of Pham's killers.
I expect this offer to increase, and will update as necessary. In the meanwhile, their press release is below.:
All of us in downtown Santa Ana reacted with shock to the Jan. 18 incident which led to the injury of a 23-year-old girl outside The Crosby restaurant. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family and friends at this time.
Representatives from The Crosby and Downtown, Inc., a group of local leaders, business owners and residents, are working closely with the Santa Ana Police Department to investigate the incident, which did not involve a weapon and is believed to be isolated. It is the first incident of its kind associated with The Crosby, which opened in 2008 and provides its own internal and external security detail during and after operating hours.
Those of us at Downtown, Inc., are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Santa Ana Police Department at (714) 245-8390. Those wishing to provide information anonymously can call the Orange County CrimeStoppers at (855)-TIP-OCCS or by texting "OCCS" and the tip to phone number 274637 from a cell phone.
Security for visitors has always been the top priority in downtown Santa Ana, especially to Downtown, Inc. While new restaurants, stores and other businesses continue to attract more out-of-area visitors, we have worked with the police to increase our security presence to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike including adding to security patrolling the area by foot, bicycle, car and car.
