Ricky Yarnall, Bartender-Turned-Chef, At "Christmas Eve Eve Dinner" at 320 Main
That's the quote that keeps running through my head. I've been to dozens of dinners with cocktails paired to the menu, but Ricky Yarnall, bartender extraordinaire, is going down the rabbit hole in his cooking debut; the food is being paired to cocktails. Specifically, they'll contain classic cocktail flavors. The pop-up, called "Christmas Eve Eve Dinner", is this coming Monday, December 23, at 320 Main in Seal Beach.
The actual cocktails will be hot tiki drinks--hot as in Celsius, not as in Scoville--by Matt Robold of Rum Society and the Orange County Bartenders Cabinet.
Anyone who follows Ricky on social media knows that he's got his "day off cooking hobby", and the results are usually head and shoulders above the majority of food being slung from kitchens across L.A., so I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles a professional kitchen.
There are two seatings, at 7 and 9 p.m.; tickets are $65 plus tax each (food only) and are available here. As a veteran of Rumdood's drinks, I can say with authority that the few dollars you'll spend on a taxi or Uber will be money well spent. You must be 21 to attend.
