Canstruction, a Charity Project Showcasing Structures Made Entirely of Canned Foods, Comes to South Coast Plaza This Week

Canstruction
We've never seen canned tuna like this before. Canstruction is a national charity contest for which teams of architects, engineers, designers and students build structures made entirely of canned foods donated by members of the community. The results can be mindblowing--masterpieces have included the Mona Lisa, a shark and, right here in OC, a giant Hello Kitty (check it out--her bow was made from Emergen-C packets!).

The project will be on display at South Coast Plaza starting this Friday, Aug. 30 through Sept. 29. See the massive works of art, and then vote for your favorite on Facebook. (More details will be provided at the event.) The best part? After the winner is chosen, all of the structures will be broken down and donated to the Orange County Food Bank.
