OC Fest of Ales
I don't actually know when the end of summer is, but I assume that when moms on Facebook start posting pictures of their half-smiling kids standing next to their front doors while holding brand new lunch boxes, we're getting pretty close. Sob! Oh well, at least there's beer. Lots and lots of beer. Here are five events where you can taste some of the best brews in OC and beyond. Happy drinking!

Tustin Brewing Company's 17th Anniversary Party
The bustling brewery is almost legal, and they're celebrating with one big-ass party. More than 20 breweries will pouring all sorts of beers, including some rarities. TBC will showcase its own 17th anniversary beer, a double IPA.

Where: Tustin Brewing, Tustin
Cost: $35, includes unlimited tastings, a commemorative glass, food discounts and a chance to win raffle prizes.

Stentorian Release Party at Valiant Brewing
The newest brewery to join OC's burgeoning beer scene is unleashing a beast of a beer, Stentorian. An English barleywine, it's got a 13-percent alcohol content (pace yourself, lushes), and yet on your first sip, you'll be blasted with the intense flavors of caramel and toffee. Read more about the wonder ale here.

Beachwood SourFest 2013: The Ultimate Acid Trip
Pucker up. An event that only happens once every two years, Beachwood's SourFest is a week-long tribute to some of the most acidic, tart and rare sour beers in existence. The massive lineup of breweries includes Allagash, Deschutes, Dogfish Head, Ommegang, Russian River and more. All beers will be available in 5.5-ounce and 10-ounce pours, and a free shuttle will be running between the Seal Beach and Long Beach locations from Sept. 6 to 8.

OC Brew Ha Ha

Seventy breweries. One-hundred-seventy-five craft and import beers. Food trucks. Friends. More beer. There's nothing quite like this annual beer-a-palooza in Oak Canyon Park.

OC Fest of Ales & Beer Run 5K
Ready, set, go drink some beer. Beer Run 5K is a flat, fun course through Anaheim's beer (and wine) history. The best part? When you cross the finish line, you can stroll over to the OC Fest of Ales, an annual celebration featuring more than 80 brews, gourmet food and entertainment. Just remember to run then drink, not the other way around.
