There are whispers and clues and now photographic proof that The Colonel is testing a fast casual restaurant in its home state of Kentucky called "KFC eleven," which is a reference to the number of secret herbs and spices...get it?

Sites like The Consumerist and QSRweb.com have gathered evidence that when the chain shuttered a KFC in Louisville, it was to turn it into what they called an "Innovation Restaurant."

From a found job posting the company has listed, we get more hints.

We've taken the best part of KFC (you guessed it... the chicken...), and crafted it into simple, fresh tastes for today. Flatbreads, sandwiches, salads and rice bowls share the menu with refreshing new drinks and indulgent sweets. And yet with all of this delicious, new food, we haven't forgotten our roots -you'll always be able to get the Colonel's famous Original Recipe Boneless chicken!

...which proves that it may still taste like chicken, but it sounds like Chipotle.

True, the chicken is good, but on some days, it's not the best part of KFC...not with the cole slaw, the mashed potatoes with gravy, and those little bucket parfaits on the menu!!

Btw, I went to the KFC on Irvine Center Drive at Culver on National Fried Chicken Day [July 6] with my coupon for 7 pieces for $5.  Big mistake.  First, I was the only person on the premises whose ancestry could not be traced to the Ming Dynasty.  Second...the wait for my order was about 53 minutes if I remember correctly.  I should have went to a KFC in Silver Lake...or Ojai...or some other vegan hotbed.
