Michael's Pizzeria Opens In Downtown Long Beach

Michael's, which began as a very good fine dining Italian restaurant on Long Beach's Naples Island (and still is), is opening its third pizzeria today. This one is at Downtown Long Beach's Promenade. According to its Facebook, the mayor will be there for a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m.


The pizzeria is its second in Long Beach. The first does business two doors down from the restaurant that it spun off from, Michael's on Naples--that one opened in 2010. Another pizzeria in Rancho Mirage came after that in 2012.

Pizzas are of the Naples style (the one in Italy), with a bulbous crust, slid into a wood burning oven. This latest pizzeria has good company in Long Beach: Its neighbors are Beachwood Brewing and others. The address is 210 East 3rd St. Suite C, Long Beach. Check out the website for a menu.
