Thousands of Drying Shark Fins Caught On Film

A year ago we ranted about the bans on foods like shark fin soup and foie gras. Despite the laws, Hong Kong knows the show must go on. Photojournalist Alex Hofford captures the trade with stomach-churning visual aids via his website. Shot on a rooftop over several days, it's a grim reminder of exactly what finning results in.

While not seeing the head of our chicken paillard or snout behind that helping of bacon helps, at the end of the day, animals (nearly extinct or otherwise) are being killed.
