k'ya Anaheim Closes; Now Rebranded as American Tavern Eatery & Drink

k'ya, the hotel restaurant that I reviewed some years ago at the Hotel Menage in Anaheim, has changed concepts once again. And this time, unlike the last time it called itself k'ya Street Fare, it has completely ditched the name.

With the new title American Tavern Eatery & Drink, there's now an abbreviated menu that focuses less on the eclectic, more on burgers and beer.

They'll eventually add TV screens to the bar, and the room is being stripped down to basics. The leather booths and the weird-looking stretched fabric covering the windows is now nowhere to be seen. Instead the entire space is open to the lobby and the tables are bare wood.

The good news is that it really hasn't changed where it matters most for me. For the past few years, I've been making it a sort of tradition to have turkey dinner with all the trimmings at the restaurant on Thanksgiving (a plate this year retailed for a reasonable $11), and it seems that even with the name change, this will continue...and thus, so will I.
