A new Asian tapas restaurant opened in Huntington Beach. No not that Asian Tapas, which is just a name for what has evolved to be a typical Northern-style Chinese restaurant.

Scraps seems to be a real Asian tapas-style eatery. The menu consists entirely of small dishes made to be shared--dishes like ginger chicken wings with kimchi-flavored waffles, roasted pork belly tacos, and octopus ceviche with wonton chips.

The venture, which debuted this weekend next door to the Gyu-Kaku in HB, is the brainchild of three partners, one of whom also owns Hot Pot City in Westminster. The executive chef/partner Jamie Ngo is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena with stints at The Ritz Carlton in Pasadena, The Polo Lounge at Beverly Hills Hotel and The Bazaar at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hill before landing here in OC.
