According to the Huffington Post, the Civil Rights Agenda, a Chicago-based LGBT advocacy group, has stated that a Chicago alderman (read: council member) has secured a promise from Chick-Fil-A to stop funding groups that oppose marriage equality and has welcomed the chain to open its doors in Chicago.

This seems surprising, given the recent publicity and the media stunts aimed at showings support for Chick-Fil-A, but anti-discrimination groups across the country are hailing the move, which was documented in an internal memo, as great progress.

Amazing what happens when you realize that people under 30--by far the largest consumers of fast food--overwhelmingly support LGBT equal rights, including marriage, and decide that it's more important to grow the business than to die on the hill of intolerance. It seems they've learned the lesson that Target learned after their ill-advised donation.
