McDonald's Tests "Breakfast After Midnight" Menu In Some Areas

Have you ever harbored a craving for an Egg McMuffin when it's two in the morning? A few lucky people in Ohio, Denver and Boston now have the option of going to their local McDonald's after the witching hour and fulfilling their jones. McDonald's has started offering a "Breakfast After Midnight" menu at some of the 24-Hour locations there, where the Egg McMuffin, the Sausage McMuffin, the breakfast burrito, the hotcakes with sausage, the hash brown, juice and coffee are made available from 12 a.m. onward.

Though they have no plans yet to do this nationwide, I hope they consider it.

I say this as a generally McDonald's averse consumer who rarely darkens the door there at lunch, dinner, or even breakfast, because like most people, I'm trying to get to work on time as it is. But their breakfast menu after midnight is kismet. There's a certain time of night--after the bars have last call, your friends have gone home--that you want something to ease you into bed. Something like an Egg McMuffin...because, let's face it, who hasn't wanted to sleep after an Egg McMuffin.
