Travel Channel announced yesterday that Anthony Bourdain's final bow on their network before he jumps ship to CNN will begin Monday, September 3 at 9 p.m. The first episode of "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations - The Final Tour" will be preceded by a nine-hour marathon of viewer-voted past episodes beginning at noon on that day.

This season will be like any other. The episodes will have the acerbic author, host and soon-to-be judge on a planned ABC cooking competition show, going to the following places:

  • Austin, Texas
  • Sydney, Australia
  • The Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy
  • The Burgundy region of France
  • Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
  • Dominican Republic
  • New York City

The Hollywood Reporter said that Mark Whitaker, one of CNN's vice presidents, gave a reason for Bourdain's exodus. "I think he's been a little bit frustrated," he told THR. "He's gone to a lot of places at the Travel Channel but there are some places that he hasn't been able to go."

Bourdain's other show, The Layover, which will be in its second season, will air episodes to 2013.
