So you're not so keen on going to Irvine, spending the afternoon in the sun and eating Greek food at the Greek festival at this weekend? How about schmoozing inside a museum a while watching a performance by something called the Sirena Serpentina Fire dancers.

This Friday evening at 7 p.m., the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach is hosting a wine and food event with 20 wines "carefully hand selected by local sommeliers" and tastings from restaurants including Gaucho Grill, La Española, Lola's Mexican Cuisine, Alegria Cocina Latina and Café Viva.

Admission is $25 if you're a member, $35 if you're not. For more info, click here

628 Alamitos Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90802
