Cant-e-lope Tonight at Tommy Bahama Laguna Beach, Our Drink of the Week

Eight miles. That's the distance between the two Orange County branches of Tommy Bahama. No other locations in the family are so closely situated, but then again, how often do you have such prime real estate in proximity of resorts, ocean and an artsy neighborhood?

We're treated to glimpses of the Pacific from our perch. People Tourist-watching is welcomed, thanks to massive, voyeuristic panes wrapping the corner shop perimeter. They even tease us with the announcement of a happy hour this month (about effing time). For now, we are content with a break in the weather that has PCH bustling as we peruse the libations

Our kitchy Cant-e-lope Tonight captures the flirty, beachy community vibe of both well-to-do and casually cool. Taking a 'less is more' approach, gentlemanly Ketel One cozies up to a sultry melon liqueur, looking to get lucky. A crush of fresh orange brings the parties together for citrus refreshment, and perhaps an exchange of numbers.

Tommy Bahama should have its own island mantra: Eat. Drink. Shop. Their cocktail has Orange County airbrushed all over it.
