What a busy, busy month in this crazy business of restaurants. We Forkers observed everything from the opening of a new French restaurant by the ex-chef at The Cellar, to a new Brazilian BBQ, to another food truck gone brick and mortar, to a waffle sandwich shop that seems to challenge Bruxie. 

Of course, there were closures. One restaurant was barely a year-old. The other was an 65-year-old institution. Both took us by surprise.

Here's this month's restaurant roll call.

Well, I'm not sure of the significance of this, but there's a loser in the West Anaheim Mexican Chicken War. At the corner of Beach and Ball, where at one time there was an El Pollo Norteño, a Juan Pollo, and an El Pollo Loco at respective corners of the intersection, only Juan Pollo and El Pollo Loco remain. I'm not sure when this happened but the El Pollo Norteño is definitely gone.  Personally, I was more of a Juan Pollo fan, and that is where I ate lunch today. Fully satisfied was I.
