(The O.G.) OC Restaurant Week Is Feb. 26-Mar. 3

Categories: Food Festivals

You could be forgiven for not knowing that Orange County Restaurant Week is next week. After all, there are so many "restaurant weeks" that it's impossible to keep them straight, and half of them aren't actually a week long.

Nevertheless, this is the O.G. restaurant week, it is exactly one week long, it's the biggest one, and it's next week, from Sunday, February 26 to Saturday, March 3.

Over a hundred restaurants are participating from all over the county, from the newly opened Ranch in Anaheim to Edwin's favorite Three Seventy Common in Laguna Beach. Restaurants can participate for lunch or dinner (or both), and the fixed, multi-course menus are $10, $15 or $20 at lunch and $20, $30 or $40 at dinner.

A list and map of participating restaurants along with their Restaurant Week offerings is available on the official website at orangecountyrestaurantweek.com. A tip from your friends at Stick A Fork In It: always check the regular menu (which should be available as usual), because some restaurants offer better RW values than others.

Some of the better values include a three-course dinner for two for $30 at Avanti Cafe in Costa Mesa, the $20 three-course dinner at Memphis at the Santora, and the $30 dinner at TAPS... but scroll through the choices and make your reservations before they book up.

Buried on this list is a fantastic deal: lunch at Macy's Signature Kitchen:

You get 3 sliders...one from each of the chefs...plus fries, a cupcake, and a beverage, for $10.

I've had Marcus Samuelson's Kobe sliders and they are very good...better than his medium-well cooked Marc Burger(Naseem of Jason Quinn fame, stick with the Marc Burger).    This would be a great opportunity to sample Cat Cora's and Nancy Silverton's grub in one sitting.

If you're near the Crystal Court part of South Coast Plaza on Bear Street next week, check it out.
