WTF: Vodka Company Advertises 'Christmas Quality' At 'Hanukkah Pricing' (Then Later Apologizes)

Categories: Really?!?!?

Just in time for the holidays, Wódka Vodka came up with a new advertising slogan: "Christmas Quality, Hanukkah Pricing."

Because -- get it? Jews are cheap!

[Silence

Billboards appeared around New York City (yeah), and featured a dog wearing a Santa hat and another in a yarmulke.

Unsurprisingly, the ad pissed off a lot of New Yorkers and also the Anti-Defamation League, which called the campaign "crude and offensive" in a statement yesterday. Later in the day, Wódka Vodka tweeted that it is pulling the ads: "Although rarely serious, we apologize to anyone we may have offended through our holiday campaign and are removing our billboard immediately."

And then, presumably, taking vodka shots to celebrate the free press.

This was in my head as I was shopping for vodka at Hi-Times today—to make vanilla extract. I passed right over this brand.
