West Bend, Wisconsin, is not related to South Bend, Indiana, other than the Bend part and the directional part. This is a non sequitur opening to a non sequitur crime that has led to a man getting rightfully jailed.

The story:

It was the wrong place, wrong time for this 35-year-old West Bend man.

Saukville police responded to a fire alarm at Taco Bell at 9:10 p.m. on Oct. 20. Upon arrival, officers realized it was a false alarm. But they also realized there was a man on scene with two active warrants from the Saukville Police Department.

He was arrested for the oustanding warrants.
