Genki Sushi, a kaiten (revolving) sushi restaurant that's huge in Hawaii and has spread to Seattle, will open its first California location in the Westfield MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana. The sushi-ya will be located on the first floor near JCPenney, next to the children's train ride. It looks to be replacing the failed Sanrio store.

The chain is known for conveyor-belt sushi and low prices; most dishes are $1, $1.50 or $2, and a few of the special dishes, such as udon and chawanmushi, are $3. You pay according to what you take off the belt.

Stay tuned for an opening date and initial impressions from the Forkers.
