Weekend Guide: Orange Int'l Street Fair, Oktoberfest and Hot Dog Mania

​Here's your guide for this long Labor Day weekend!  

What: Gourmet tacos and a rockumentary--not a bad way to spend a Thursday night. For this happy hour event, the hipster joint will be screening loudQUIETloud: A Film About the Pixies, giving an insider's look at the Pixies' 2004 reunion tour. Specials include $3 draught craft beers, $2 off canned craft beers, and $1 off tacos.

When: Thurs., 9-11 p.m.

Where: Taco Asylum, Costa Mesa. 

Cost: Free admission.  

What: A massive annual street fair in downtown Orange with a massive selection of international fare. Vietnamese shrimp rolls, Greek loukoumades, Danish donuts, Aussie ice cream and Norwegian rosettes, anyone?   

When: Fri., 5-10 p.m.; Sat.-Sun, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. 

Where: Orange Plaza on Chapman Ave. and Glassell St., Orange. 

Cost: Free admission. Bring cash for vendors. 

What: To kick of the new season of The Great Food Truck Face, Food Network and vegan food truck Seabirds are dishing out free lunch, buuuut you have to work for it. Starting now, follow @FoodNetwork on Twitter for location clues. (The first hint: "This market caters to 'greenies.'") The final location will be tweeted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and at noon, the first 100 people in line will receive free grub.

What: Oom pa pah, oom pa pah. It's time again for brats, beer steins and lederhosen.  

When: Sun., 8 p.m., through Oct. 30. 

Where: Old World Village, Huntington Beach.

What: After a two-year hiatus, legendary gurgitator Takeru Kobayashi returns to hot dog scarfing. His goal: 70 hot dogs in 10 minutes. 

When: Mon., festivities begin at noon and contest begins at 6 p.m. 

Where: Derby Deli and Dueling Piano Bar, Mission Viejo.
