Well, it's finally happened. Gordon Ramsay and crew are descending to Orange County (or is it ascending?) from Hell's Kitchen, and have decided that the restaurant it wants to save from damnation in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares is Luigi's D'italia in Anaheim. They will film next week, and the casting department is inviting you, OC's dining public, to come and witness the intervention when filming occurs from July 26th to July 29th.

If you're interested, e-mail anaheimrest@gmail.com to secure your spot on these days. Do not call the restaurant to make your reservations. You are responsible for paying for the meal, but yes, this means that your ugly mug can potentially be on TV making pithy remarks about the food and the service. The Kitchen Nightmares people have confirmed that Ramsay will be there in all his gruffness.

I hope this place, Luigi's D'Italia closes for good. This family of mental patients has no business  serving food the the public. The last thing this world needs is that "New Jersey" attitude making it's way to California. As for JB, Frank Kalaj and Mobilecam go back to New Jersey if you want to eat shit food we don't want you in California.

Where is it written that I am from New Jersey? Not true (though, the part about NJ having some shit food mostly is)

Kitchen Nightmares ruined my favorite Italian place. Dumbest sh%t I ever seen - I took a date there and was so upset with everything it pretty much ruined my entire night. This place has been a tradition in my Family for over 15 years for 1 reason "Osso Buco" and above all they changed the damn recipe - they rined it.

First they took away the booths ? then the bread they brought out was different, a I was patiently waiting for my salad to come out, but nope cheap ass TV show cut out the salad ??? THEN out comes my Osso Buco on like a tablespoon of mashed Potatoes rather then a bed of noodles :(

I couldn't be more disappointed with the changes and most my family is not interested in traveling the 30 minutes it takes us to get there??

Advice Luigi's - put the noodles back in the Osso Buco, bring back the salad and don't listen to every thing this dumb ass running that show

I agree, not at all the quaint restaurant it used to be.  The bolognese was like traditional sauce from a jar.  Too bad they opted to change, it was always a favorite of our family! I don't need to go back.

My family and I went there this past week. The way the restaurant looked didnt bother me so much I thought it was nice. But the food really sucked. I loved the food before. Now they put onions in their Chicken Alfredo. Who puts onions in fettuccini alfredo? It was disgusting. The bread was horrible as well. The regular bread tasted like carboard and their garlic knotts was more like vinegar knotts. I'm severly disappointed. I like not far from Luigis and I loved the place but if this is their new menu forget it

You're kidding me...onions in fettuccine alfredo?

G.Ramsey F'd this up big time, this was my local home away from home!!! and the service and the vibe has changed for the worst!! Soooo stupid to think they took the only new york style eatry out of  O.C with boxing, basketball pics of Kobe and Lamar stuff galore. Now it seems like a fruitty cafe !! Fu'ing bullshit!!! With half the menu left they have no clue what they have done!! in two years this will be an alberto's mexican spot!! bring on carnitas!!

"in two years this will be an alberto's mexican spot"

LMFAO(and I give it less than a year)

My wife and I ate there last night.  The food was much worse than I imagined it would be.  I'm pretty sure everything was off of a Sysco truck.  We ordered two double espressos and were served tall coffe mugs full of about 10 oz of water mixed with instant espresso powder.  Ramsay was there.  There was a crew working in a tent in the parking lot building furniture for the overnight transformation.  Our waitress was nice and attentive.  Six hours after dinner, I had a raging headache and let's just say you didn't want to be in the same room as me.

I'm not familiar with this show but I find this troubling because, for my money, Luigi's d'Italia is the best....and maybe the only worthwhile...classic Southern Italian here in the land of pho and taco combo plates.

If Luigi's food and service becomes better after the filming, that's great, but the last thing I'd want is for it to become even more popular (and see the working-class neighborhood vibe atmosphere go away) and the recipes to change.  Did they need the money that badly?

Don't know if you've been in awhile, but the place has gone downhill. Slow service, salads drowned in dressing, slightly overpriced food, and terrible kids meals. Given how close we live, I'm looking forward to the upgrade!

It has gone downhill—far downhill—recently. I don't know what happened, but I've had gluey pasta, weird service and even the pizza, which was once great, went downhill.

It's around the corner from my house. It will be interesting to see what's going on.

It is really bad food, we have a Sicilian guy who had ordered it for the members at the hall,he would always say how great the food is and at first we believed him, but when the guy delivered the food he looked ashamed to bring it, like he felt guilty, you know how dogs eyebrows get when the have eaten something they were not supposed to? Well that is the look.We has some pasta will sausage, yeck! then the pasta with sauce and more sausage, everything tasted bland, no flavor, all quantity not quality. I mean everything looked good but as soon as you ate the food you wanted to puke. Their food reminded me of another Ramsey past episode of a  (Mexican) restaurant where they would have frozen food for weeks already prepared, sauces sitting in a exposed container with fermenting all rancid. The family has too many cooks spoiling the business, everybody has a expensive SUV, and daddy has all the kids grabbing for control in his pocket, it is time to hang it up Luigis.

The show is about saving a failing restaurant so if this place is being fixed, then it is either change or close.   The show only picks ones that are about to shut down.

With all due respect, I think that a "failing" backstory would be a little white television fantasy.

Methinks it's more likely a clueless 25 y.o. restaurant production scout in a Century City high-rise cold-called Luigi's and emphasized the chance to make some big bucks if they let the cameras in on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night in the middle of summer, when their core dining audience is away on vacation at Lake Arrowhead.
