Soon...

Remember how in May, I said we were going to do our first-ever hot sauce/salsa contest July 23 at the Fullerton Public Library? Well, I messed up--I'm postponing the event, and it's all my fault.

I'm not canceling it, mind you, but I'm in the stretch run of my much-promised book on the history of Mexican food in the United States (I just discovered where tortilla chips were invented!), and gotta crack down these next couple of weeks. I'm thinking probably September is when we'll do the contest, to coincide with Mexican Independence Day--details to come...in the meanwhile, keep practicing those hot sauces and salsas! Hint: I'm ALL about chile de árbol...
