Brats Berlin Luxe Lonchera Debuts This Weekend

When Christian Murcia of Crepes Bonaparte thought about expanding their mobile empire, he decided the best move would be to introduce a new concept. Brats Berlin, an interactive experience colliding street art with street food, was born.

We're talking six bratwurst varieties ($6), fresh-cut frites ($2.50), and a selection of Jones Sodas (also $2.50). Combos that include your choice of brat, a pair of toppings (sauerkraut, grilled onions, sweet peppers, spicy peppers), frites and a Jones will cost you $10.50.  That's our kind of holiday meal!

The luxe lonchera's funky graffiti wrap is designed by Evolve, a local aerosol artist who has been featured at the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego. He is the first of many creative minds who will showcase their talent on Brats Berlin's walls--a rotating mobile art exhibit, if you will. Followers will have to keep on top of Berlin's evolving exterior as it navigates the competitive streets of Orange and Los Angeles counties.

Their first stop will be the SoCo Farmers Market in Costa Mesa (3303 Hyland Avenue) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday. However, the "official" debut is that night over at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) located in Santa Ana's Artists Village. Located at 117 North Sycamore, the Brats will be grilling during the city's monthly Artwalk. Catch them between 7 and 10 p.m. for some hearty German grub.
