Slater's 50/50, the Anaheim Hills restaurant known for their half-beef, half-bacon burger, is set to open in the old Flight Bistro location at 8082 Adams St. in Huntington Beach, just west of the corner of Beach Boulevard. The target date for the opening is July 1, according to Slater's staff working the Taste of Anaheim event.

That's right, Orange County: the porky "burgers by design" will be available without that awful slog east on the 91... now perhaps if we all start working out now, we'll be able to eat one of those burgers with the fried egg on top without popping buttons on our pants.

If you can't wait until then and you're willing to deal with the traffic, the O.G. Slater's is at 6362 E. Santa Ana Canyon Rd., corner of Fairmont, in Anaheim Hills.

Wow, If they would just scrape all the gum off the sidewalk entrance, I think that would be a big plus...How can they overlook that????  Absolutely disgusting.  Fun inside, food tasty, and you can easily split a burger and the appetizers.  That way you only die half as fast.  Yes, we will probably go back!

That is a doomed restaurant location.  Hopefully, 50/50 can make it work there.

How does their burger compare to 25 Degrees'?

Joe is correct, this address is cursed (I once tended bar here, incidentally, during its brief life as Waboz). That said, every tenant in the past decade has been a wannabe cutting-edge club-scene something or another, which has no appeal when downtown is just blocks away, so Slater's (despite the fact that its 50/50 burger is nothing special) might be able to defy history simply by being more mainstream.

Apples and oranges, but what a great idea for a Dueling Dishes...

Yup this location is cursed.  Hopefully Slaters can turn it around.  I've seen 4-5 restaurants set up shop there and shut down within a year.
