Those who've lived in Irvine near UCI about a decade or so ago should remember Jimmy Z Grill at Campus Plaza. It folded and then the sushi restaurant that followed it also failed. Now at the vacated spot, another sushi restaurant is poised to open.

But what's become of Jimmy Z? Well, the seemingly irrepressible restaurateur behind Forty Carrots, Garden Bistro in South Coast Plaza and Jimmy Z Grill has popped up again with a new restaurant called Posch. It takes over the sprawling 12,000 square foot space that used to be iLounge and Chanteclair before that, across from John Wayne Airport.

The restaurant, which focuses on Mediterranean flavors, officially opened last week.

18912 Macarthur Blvd, Irvine, CA 92612, (949) 833-1900. http://www.poschrestaurant.com/
