Carlos Salgado, pastry chef at Commis in Oakland, has left to move back to transform his family's taquería in Orange into Taco Maria, which he says will serve "first-generation Mexican-American" food, according to SFGate's Inside Scoop blog. (Though, on a side note, SFGate, OC isn't LA any more than Oakland is SF.)

We are all for anything that advances the banner of Mexican food in these fair orange acres. Stay tuned for further details as they take shape.
