2-Year-Old Gets Served Alcohol at Olive Garden

Last week's Jonathan Gold article notwithstanding, Olive Garden's got a more serious problem on its hands as news broke in Florida that the restaurant served a 2-year-old sangria instead of orange juice.

The kid was rushed to the ER, but appears to be fine. In the meantime, the chain cops to the mistake and the mother's hired an attorney. With this coming on the heels of a 15-month-old getting tequila in an Applebee's, is this the trend of something new and insidious, or just stupid, crazy mistakes by idiots? We shall see...but I hope it's the latter.

Pulllease.  Europeans practically serve kids wine from the bottle.  Typical hyper-protective mother.  The emergency room?  Really?  Traumatized from being "poked and prodded?"  Olive Garden should apologize, give them a gift certificate, and mom should move on.

Wine 1/10 to orange juice 9/10, the kid was hardly drunk.

It's the Olive Garden. I guarantee you, the drink had a lot of juice filler and little alcohol. And the parents have big dollar signs in their eyes.

ugh this is such a "I want everything, but I don't want to work for it" world. Of course this problem should be brought forward so it never happens again, but suing them? really? Mistakes happen give them a break.

"Pain and misery"? If any because of the parents' over-reaction. No reason to rush the kid to the emergency room for a non-dangerous dose. " ... lay off ... the family", Ctlmh2 was not harsh on them, it was just a comment.
