Are the Days of Chain Restaurants Hiring Illegal Immigrants Over?

We are hammered with propaganda that it is the war on terror(and other reasons)that is bankrupting us....that is ridiculous. I hope the following reasons are shared over and over again until they are read so many times the reader gets sick of reading them. Here are the hard facts: $11 Billion to 22 Billion dollars is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. $2.2 Billion dollars is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC and free school lunches for illegal aliens. $2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens. $12 Billion a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here ILLEGALLY ...and they cannot speak a word of English! $17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies. $3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens. 30% of all federal prison inmates are illegal aliens - deport them! $90 Billion Dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare & Social Services by the American Taxpayers. $200 Billion dollars a year in SUPPRESSED AMERICAN WAGES are caused by illegal aliens. No wonder our kids can't find a starter job! - SAD The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border, also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries,  Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana crossed into the US from the Southern Border. The National Policy Institute estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 Billion dollars, or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period. - It would be worth every penny! In 2006 illegal aliens sent home $45 BILLION in remittances to their country or origin. "The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration" - Nearly One Million Sex Crimes Committed by illegal Immigrants in The United States! Total Cost: $338.3 BILLION PER YEAR! - That would be enough to stimulate the economy for the CITIZENS OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY!  Are we that stupid?  YES, for letting those in the U.S. Congress get away with letting this happen year after year after year after year!....... Check all these statistics if you want - they are all FACT - We need to do something before it gets worse. Contact any Rep, Senator or Committee in Washington, DC.

Because from what I read, he said this: Chipotle is firing employees who can't prove their legal status. That right there is saying, hey, those that aren't legal, aka in line with the law, are being fired. Did he try to cover up that being an illegal immigrant meant it is against the law for you to work in the United States? And by the way, anyone who doesn't understand that illegal immigrant means they are in the country ILLEGALLY is just an idiot and your explanation is not going to enlighten them. And what is this nonsense about asking him about Mexico's immigration policy with Guatamela? Is he the president of Mexico? • Hm, I can hire a lazy unmotivated teenager that will be gone at the end of the summer break (I worked with them when I was a teen, I know) or I can hire a hard-working person who will be there for the long-term and is grateful for the job, hm, tough choice. The other side of the stick is that about 95% of the people I worked for in those jobs had no idea which of their people were actually doing the work, definitely none of the people beyond first-line sups had a clue.

• All I can say is it's not true in my small town. Chain restaurants still hire undocumented folks, as do housing contractors and even ranchers. They do not lack for work.

• My understanding was that Chipotle was trying to get their undocumented workers out the door without any fuss or paper trail before the Feds forced them to turn everyone over for deportation, but I'm a Denver native so I guess I always want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Meanwhile, how disappointing has Napolitano turned out to be? ICE and TSA have somehow managed to get worse since Obama took office.

• Ats. A. Nice, Are you informed at all of what it takes for people from Mexico and South America to enter into this country documented. A "hassle" is not the right way to describe it. It is practically impossible for people from Mexico and South American. I am sure that your hard working "legal" immigrant grandparents did not have to go through the process that an immigrant who seeks to enter the U.S. documented has to go through. I do not doubt it was challenging, but I am sure they shared many of the same dreams my Latino brother and sisters have when they entered the United States. There really needs to be an end to the criminalization of honest people seeking to work to live. You may call them illegal aliens, but they are human beings seeking a place where they can work, and feed themselves and their families.

Their stockholders (quick, check your 401 (k)) might beg to differ, and what good would it do, anyway? Or are you saying that restaurant chains should continue to thumb their noses at democratically enacted laws by hiring illegal aliens pushing ahead of legitimate applicants in the immigration line -- illegals who thereby avoid the immigration-bureaucracy hassle, as well as the trouble of having to study American language and culture, and who get to experience the thrill of being abused by the criminals smuggling them into the U.S.? That's what I thought you meant. My dear uneducated, hard-working (legal) immigrant grandparents would have disagreed. Stick another fork in it, Gustavo. Your ideas need more cooking.

• People always say that Mexicans do all these jobs that US Citizens would not want to do. I am wondering if Chipotle and these other chains are having difficulty maintaining staff?
