Hi mom

Ooooooh man. There are tears of joy welling up in my eyes at the prospect of such delicious, innovative bounty. Whether the vessel be flour or corn, I am beyond excited to try this place out. Having frequented Haven and enjoyed many of it's culinary treats, I will most assuredly find myself in line at taco asylum at 10:45am this Thursday.

Thank God the flight stops with #8!

I say two months and then culture, tradition, and good taste take over and it's replaced by a taco truck on cinder blocks. OK, let's be fair -- these guys know how to run a restaurant. Six months.

I feel like any taco place that serves tacos with flour tortillas is a FAIL. I could be wrong though. Also at 5 bucks per taco, the taco better taste like unicorn meat or something chuck norris would only eat.

I have to admit that I love a good thin flour tortilla with steak (NOT just random hacked-up bits of carne asada), shredded lettuce, tomatoes, a really spicy salsa, and maybe a touch of guac...

"Unicorn meat"...HAHAHAHAHA! Actually, Andres, the one way you can get away with serving tacos in flour tortillas are the breakfast tacos of Texas...

I'm confused by flights of tacos.

$5-6 for one taco, but $18 for 8? Or is the regular price for one huge or two medium tacos, in which case they are cheaper than quite a few fancy places? Is the flight meant to be shared or are they tiny taster tacos? If a flight is really for one person, $18 for a meal of tacos seems steep. Also, how many order of $5 tacos does it take to make a meal? I also find it interesting that there are no corn tortillas.

I finally made it to Haven this weekend and dropped an arm and a leg on beer. I hope the $6 beer on tap per Taco Asylum's website is of similar diversity and quality as Haven's. I will be a little disappointed if its the exact same beer, as it represents the gross markup at Haven.
