Pick Up Stix Sold to Collector of Chinese Restaurant Chains
I think I once ate at Pick Up Stix--I can't remember. If I did, I think I found the food serviceable but not enticing--not nearly Chinese-American enough, not nearly 369 Shangai enough. But the San Clemente-based company has made a name for itself in the world of fast-casual restaurants, enough to motivate a collector of Chinese restaurant chains to purchase it, Nation's Restaurant News reports.
That's really the only way to describe Lorne Goldberg, who already owns two such properties: Leeann Chin and Mandarin Express. No news yet if Goldberg will merge his brands, or keep them separate, ala Carl's Jr. and Hardee's
