Hollywood Farmers' Market in Danger of Getting Chopped Down at Best, Closed at Worst
![]() |
But the landscape will soon change. Over the weekend, the chef of the Farmer's Kitchen, the restaurant that anchors the Hollywood Farmer's Market, told me about a disturbing development: the Los Angeles Film School wants the city of Los Angeles to not renew the permit for the market that allows it to shut down Selma, where the clown college has an ramp to its garage. So, after 20 years of no complaints, the Farmer's Market will be chopped down, and its livelihood at stake.
Want to further localize the story? That same chef worked for years at the Storyteller's Cafe at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel and left some country club in Coto de Caza to work for the Farmer's Kitchen.
How to help after the jump!
This is also a reminder for those of us who enjoy farmers' markets that bring joy in parking lots (the one across the street from UC Irvine) or streets (the Anaheim version) that malcontent businesses can easily shut them down. Be vigilant at all times...
