Kelly's Coffee and Fudge recently shuttered at the Irvine Spectrum; but caffeine-fiends who already miss the place will not be left wanting for long. In its place there will be a honest-to-goodness French café that will serve coffee originally roasted in...Chicago?

Yes, the new Le Napoleon French Café will brew and pour Intelligentsia Coffee, already a favorite with discriminating Silver Lake hipsters for its over-the-top, pricey blends, like Geisha, which retails for $99 a half pound.

How it will fare with Irvinites remains to be seen, but I would never underestimate the appeal of any addictive stimulants.

Thanks to Brekkie Fan for the tip!
