Not that I condemn theft in any way, but one can understand why a Taco Bell employee would try and steal money over the years--bad morale, pay, and the like. But I'm talking about a couple bucks here and there. Nearly $5,000? Either a desperate man, or stupid managers--your call!

From the Carolinas:

A 21-year-old Raleigh man was in jail today after police said he embezzled nearly $5,000 from a Taco Bell restaurant while an employee.

Dametrius Edward Spears, of 113 N. State St., was charged with three counts of embezzlement from an unspecified Taco Bell in Raleigh, according to arrest warrants filed with the Wake County Magistrate's Office.

Spears is accused of taking $4,882 from March 22 through April 8 of this year, the warrants state.
