• My dad, a redneck from Montana...always drank Red Beer, which this sounds like. I occasionally drink it because it reminds me of him. Thought it was a white trash item, not a hispanic taste treat... Used to really love this site, but everything seems racially charged lately. Not loving the change.

• Am I confused? Is this completely different than a michelada? Is this an RSM or HB version of what real mexican restaurants serve? Who let Jessica post this?

• Change is difficult and scary so it's completely understandable how craig wilson feels. I think most of us would feel that way - and May when that time comes - when change is near.. PS - I am latina and pro illegal immigration but I always feel a pang of empathy for those who are super anti immigration.. Some of my extended family is illegal and I know how Sucky it is for them on the other end of this issue living in fear.. :(

• Craig Wilson is a weak and frightened man. In a few years, when the Hispanic community in the US eclipses the voting bloc of anglos, Mr. Craig Wilson had better hope that the majority won't remember this kind of nasty and crude propaganda, or else he will find himself redlined, demeaned and deported.

• Craig Wilson: Are you serious? This is a FOOD BLOG. It's a post by Jessica Ford, and it's about beer. Can't you confine your hate-filled screeds to posts that actually have to do with immigration? It's not like they're few and far between around this paper. Jessica: Bloody beer is just another name for michelada, a version of the Mexican cerveza preparada. You can get it in any Mexican restaurant with a beer license, but I like it best with Negra Modelo.

• I enjoyed G Arellano's article of Sun Aug 29, about his 59 yr old dad and how he, the son GA is paying his father's house pmts. I am 59 soon but my dad came to Calif from Texas very poor, was a dishwasher in 1940 at age 20, 1st LA job. Soon he sold shoes and clothes. Later sold cars. My dad was making $50,000 selling used cars in the 1960s when the avg dad in my neighborhood made $10,000. My point in all this is :If Mexico would allow its people to ALL go to school, and ALL have the oppty for middle class life, then Mr Arellano the senior, age 59, would not have had to come here (USA) and have the anchor baby Junior Arellano in the 1980s or 70s when he was born. I spoke to Mr Arellano and the crowd at UCLA last yr at the Book Fair. His meet and greet was called :"Beyond Borders". I asked the panel, including Mr Arellano, should ALL 6 billion on Earth just come here illegally? and have 10 babies and each of the 10 are US citizens? G Arrellano shouted at me "I AM AN Anchor Baby!!!" He did not answer my question. I walked out. I do not need to be yelled at by an anchor baby illegally here in the US. The 14th Amendment rightly is intended to apply to black slaves and their descendants. We owe black slaves a lot. But we do not owe illegal alien invaders, all 6 billion, US citizenship. The US Constitution is not a suicide pact where we all lay down and die and let Mexico or Poland OCCUPY the USA.
