Introducing the iGourmet

The New York Times broke the news in a blog today that Gourmet magazine, famously edited by Ruth Reichl after her stint as the restaurant critic for the Gray Lady and infamously closed down by its parent company Condé Nast, is back.

Unfortunately, you'll need an iPad to view it. The company is resurrecting the brand as Gourmet Live, which will feature the usual food-geek content, social media plug-ins (like the ones above every one of our posts, hint hint) and 4sq-style check-ins. ("I'm at Fauchon spending euros as were they grains of sand!")

The application, which launches this autumn, will reportedly be free. Perhaps Condé Nast have learned from the idiotic $4.99 cost of each issue of Wired.
