Garden Grove Strawberry Festival This Weekend!

​This weekend is Memorial Day, and if you live in Orange County that means it's Garden Grove Strawberry Festival time. While it's fun to walk around the booths and play a couple of games, the real reason to go is for a strawberry shortcake from the Garden Grove Bethel (chapter) of Job's Daughters.
You'll know the shortcake by the theme park-style rope line outside of it. There will undoubtedly be 30 or 40 people ahead of you. Ice cream or real whipped cream, your choice. If it weren't being served by a religious organization, it would be devilishly sinful--and delicious.

The festival kicks off today at 1 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m., runs tomorrow and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Just remember: go on the nausea-inducing rides first, then eat the shortcake.
