New Joint To Sell Funnel Cakes In Tustin

​I wish I could say that I saw this coming. Even as I flippantly predicted that funnel cakes might just be the next food fad to hit it big in my review of Q Restaurant in Westminster (which serves funnel cakes and crawfish), I really didn't expect to see any more funnel cake joints appearing outside of the OC Fairgrounds.

But there it was. Something called Habibi's Delicious Funnel Cakes is going to open soon in the space once occupied by Robeks at the the corner of El Camino Real and Redhill in Tustin.

I wish them luck. While The Funnel Factory at the Irvine Spectrum holds court in front of the giant ferris wheel (which makes eating this county-fair staple almost obligatory), Habibi's sweet-toothed customers will have a nice view of the freeway overpass and the U-Haul rental warehouse. I look forward to being one of them.
