Vegan Spicy Italian Sausage Topped With Caramelized Onions and Vegan Chili
For those of you who haven't gotten a chance to stop by Valhalla Table yet to nosh on their vegan sausages, your reasons for putting it off have just gotten fewer. As of today, these guys have added vegan chili to their menu.

"So, what," you say? So delicious--that's what. Being a vegetarian or vegan doesn't mean you don't have the liberty to let loose. 'Once in a while, comfort food is in order and when that time comes around what's more comforting than a steamy serving of savory home-style chili? Mm, how bout chili on your fries and sausages too!

Read on to find out how the flavor holds up other vegan chilies.

The vegan chili is a great balance between savory and sweet flavors. The ingredients include fresh onions, tomatoes, mild peppers, black beans, corn kernels, ground soy protein and a fantastic blend of chili seasonings.

This chili is comparable to Gypsy Den's adobe stew, but with a thicker consistency, richer flavor and more going on for it in terms of texture due to the generous amounts of ground soy protein. It's also thicker and more complex in flavor compared to Native Food's chili. These characteristics make Valhalla Table's vegan chili heartier in comparison and easier to gob onto of your fries and links! On its own, the chili doesn't pack much heat, but this little detail can be overlooked because it still manages to hit the spot (and hit it hard)!

A bowl rings in at $6 and is served with a side of toasted buns. For an extra $2.50 you can have chili added to your Belgian-style fries, bringing their total to $6 as well. The menu doesn't yet offer a separate price for adding chili to sausages, so if you're hungry, the best strategy thus far would be to order your fries, sausage and chili separately and apply the chili to the other items yourself.

Add a ridiculously extensive imported beer list into the mix and you've got yourself a date. Call me!
