Kyochon in Stanton Shutters...And Other Restaurant Closures

• JB, *THAT* Fatburger remains strong. It didn't budge when the Edwards Cinemas was demolished and I hope it stays around for a long time. The one on Jeffrey actually went kaputz last year. And I'm still waiting for the Hawaiian BBQ to open up in its place. It might never happen though. The Coming Soon sign for that place been there longer than Fatburger's been closed! pat, That's probably true. I used to rent from the Irvine Company and if my yearly apartment increases were any indication, it's probably just the same with commercial leases.

• Bill's Burger at MacArthur/Fairview is going to be a Sonic Drive-In. Strange how many shops in Irvine are closing. It seems to support my thesis that Irvine is still charging too-high rents to support most mom-and-pop or franchisee shops.

• Regarding Fatburger... Elmo, you almost triggered cardiac arrest in me [as if eating their burgers frequently wouldn't already do that]. I thought you were referring to the Fatburger in the Jamboree/Michelson "Sports Chalet" "Mother's Market" shopping center. It's the Fatburger on Jeffrey Road that shut its doors...the Park Place one on Michelson is still open, as far as I know.
