Japanese Beer For Kids!

• Drinking is a big part of cultures outside of the US. It is Not, however, drinking as Americans see it. The Point is not �to get fucked up�, �Catch a Buzz�, or �Get smashed� Drinking a beer or a glass of wine is a treat to enjoy, not to be abused. I�m willing to bet that every single one of those kids will turn out less maladjusted than most of the posters here.

• I dont see what a big deal is. There is a Russian Ale (official clasification) from Eastern Europe with the name kvass. Its a fermented rye beverage that is around 1% alcohol and people of all ages drink it. This drink has been around for hundreds of years so the Japenese are a few centuries behind.

• Yeah you see this in novelty shops these days but hardly ever on the streets. As the pic shows at the top, its now called KODOMO NOMIMONO( Kids drink ) in Japanese, but until a few years back was actually called KODOMO BIIRU (KIDS BEER).

• Holy cow! I was in Japan from spring to fall in 2009 and I had never seen anything like this! I know Kirin, one of the largest beverage suppliers in Japan came out with a new 0% alcohol beer when I was there. But still, a beer-flavored drink for kids? That's widiculous!
