This tip comes from fellow Weekling, Matt Coker, who was at The Alley in Newport Beach recently when owner Jeff Chon told him that he's planning to open a new Japanese shabu-shabu/yakiniku joint near Mother's Market on 17th Street in Costa Mesa.The target opening date will be sometime in early December, which is good, because the last thing anyone wants right now, in this sticky August heat, is too cook one's lunch in front of a indoor BBQ or stove.
