Good Chicken Tikka Masala at the Olde Ship, But What the Hell is that "Naan"?

• The naan that I usually buy from Indian stores is the Deep brand. They are really good. Their other Indian flat breads are equally good. I will be trying Ye Olde Shippe for the first time tomorrow and am looking forward to trying their food. We have a few different English pubs [in other parts of the country] to compare them to.

• Ok.. This is for the masses.. Pillsbury kills it in the ready made indian bread market, no seriously, ask any brownie, the parathas, naans, and puris they market deliver every time.. Ask any Indian mom. Ok now its out in the open. Try Little India Market on Pioneer in Artesia, CA Ajay the owner will hook anyone up and ship to order, even if its not in stock.

• I know sourcing is difficult. I would be more than happy to lead The Old Ship to a quality vendor for naan, at distributor pricing of course. Drop me a line, it would be my pleasure. Cheers!

• Well if you must know the bread that you think is cheap pita bread is authentic Naan bread. It is bought from the Indian supply company "House of Spices" and is the brand Laxmi. House of spices is an authentic Indian supply house. Unfortunately, we cannot make absolutely everything fresh and from scratch everyday like our meals, soups and curries. Since naan is infrequently ordered we buy it from the Indian supply shop pre made. Regards, The Olde Ship

• Nope, the English call naan "naan" and pita bread "pita bread." I think the management at Ye Olde Shippe probably thought the Yanks wouldn't know the difference.
