Bon Epi Patisserie & Cafe Opens at Diamond Jamboree

• Bon Epi is not a Chinese bakery, it is actually a Korean one. The first one was set up in New Jersey/New York area, but it is under a different name. The difference is that Bon Epi is not a bakery. It is actually a pastry shop. If you have a sensitive palate you will find that 85's bread (I absolutely love this place) is more oily and for non-asians it is difficult to notice, but there is a certain "Chinese" taste to it. Bon Epi on the other hand is sweeter. TASTE THEIR CAKES! It's amazing, literally melts in your mouth. I love 85 bread, but the oil gets to me after a couple bites ): Anyways, check out Bon Epi, I'm sure it'll grow bigger with time.

• <i>'Cause you just know I'd (verbally) smack someone silly if they were insulting you. ;)</i> Aw thanks! ;-) Since I know you like to cook (and naturally talented at it), I need to tell you that I'm finding HMart at DJ to have a very good and varied produce section (and cheap too!). In fact, because of it, I cooked this week! *the audience GASPS!*

'Cause you just know I'd (verbally) smack someone silly if they were insulting you. ;) I just noticed the sign for this place on the way home last week. We've been cutting down Alton to Jamboree when Red Hill gets backed up and I keep staring longingly at DJ. I still haven't been to any of their spots!

• 1000Steps, HA! You know I was wondering when someone was going to call me out! ;-) As finished this post, I thought "Dang, I sure write about this place a lot. Why hasn't anyone noticed!?" I'm glad it was you, old friend. And until they fill every available space, or I take another route to work, (which is why I notice these things), I'll probably continue!! Who else but a loyal and attentive reader would know that I harp on and on about DJ?

• 1000Steps: If this is meant as a slap toward Edwin, slag off. He reports on what is new and happening in OC food, and, frankly, Diamond Jamboree is it. If, in fact, you praise Edwin, carry on!

• This shall now be called the "Diamond Jamboree Blog". That is all.

• That's the least it could do for us! What I saw of their stock did look pretty tempting. Plus, I think they have WiFi, which if I recall correctly, 85 doesn't have.

• Maybe it will diffuse the line at 85?
